18 months and 4 seconds of Windows Vista start up sound
Saturday, November 11, 2006 by Salman SiddiquiMicrosoft Corp took 18 months to find the right tune for Windows Vista’s start up sound, and the soft da-dum with a lush fade last a mere 4 seconds. Reminds me of Windows 95’s ’start me up tune’ by Rolling Stones. It was believed that Microsoft paid millions for the right to use rolling stone’s few seconds of tune on Windows 95 - rumors, but this time around, Vista’s tune which took 18 months is definitely a million dollar tune.
